Mr Marshall's Music Makers

At Mr Marshall’s Music Makers, you’ll learn from an experienced Primary School teacher with a Bachelor of Business and a Masters of Teaching (Primary Education). With over 25 years of drumming experience—including touring Australia and recording with bands in alternative, country, folk, punk rock, and heavy metal—you benefit from both musical expertise and proven teaching know-how.

My own drumming journey began as a teenager, inspired by Ben Gillies from Silverchair on Frogstomp, who was only a year older than me at the time. Now, as a father of a primary school-aged child who is also learning the drums, I understand the importance of encouragement and guidance at every stage. I also coordinate the school band and lead other musical projects at school, helping students discover their passion for music. In my role as school band leader, I play guitar and bass, and, where possible, I plan to incorporate these instruments into our lessons, creating a genuine experience performing within a band environment as part of your lessons.

My teaching philosophy goes hand in hand with my approach to drum lessons: every student deserves a quality education, targeted instruction, and hands-on experiences. Just as in my classroom, lessons are tailored to your individual needs, so you can progress confidently, enjoy making music, and reach your personal goals.

Lessons take place in my home studio, located in Kings Langley, Western Sydney. Here, you’ll have access to top-quality drums and other instruments, creating a welcoming and inspiring environment to learn and grow as a musician.
